Considering they were the only team to EVER come back down 3-0 in a best of 7 series, I'm guessing it's not going to happen 2 years in a row. I bet we dont see anything like that again for a very long time. Sure it's possible, but HIGHLY unlikely. Especially when you look at the White Sox pitching and their clutch hitting. Plus they have won 15 of their last 16 games. They're just a better team, period.

As good as the Astros have been overall, they're overmatched.
They've had chances to win 2 games in a row and this thing could have been Astros 2-1, but the bullpen and in last night's case the starting pitching couldn't hold on. If the Sox don't win tonight, they'll win it in 5. |

Why is it that any team with the word 'Sox' in it is good?? I know that has nothing to do with how a team plays, but still, I think that's kind of a weird coincidence...I really don't care who wins (since mah Yanks didn't even make it
) even though I'm feelin' kinda bad for the 'Stros, since this is their first trip to the World Series, and they were so close, but the Sox are looking sharp. This isn't a sympathy contest, so let the best team win... |

ROF'ngL @ the Git 'r Done sign I just saw.
Right now 1-0 Sox. 3 outs away. Edit 1: 2 outs away and a runner on second. Chris Burke is up. Edit 2: Holy fucking shit at Juan Uribe. That is the catch of the year...possibly quite literally. One out away. But there's still a runner on second. Base hit ties it. Edit 3: One strike away. WHITE SOX WIN!@% Oh My God! Last edited by Cfw828 : 10-27-2005 at 12:01 AM. |

Those last two defensive plays Uribe made were amazing!! Especially the catch for out #2.
Congrats to the White Sox, they were definitely the best team and deserve to be champs. Poor Astros, couldnt hit with RISP for the life of them. Since they scored their last run in the 8th inning yesterday, they left 18 men on base! Ouch! |

Give it up for the Astros though. Great year for them. They kept every game close this series and had they faced any less of a team, I think they could have swept the other way.
The Sox though were 12-1 during this post season and their loss came in another very close game...they were pretty much untouchable. It's been strange times since 2001. 3 of the last 4 teams to win the World Series only won the Wild Card and the last two teams hadn't won their last World Series since the 1910s and whereas it was the White Sox winning first and the BoSox winning in '17 and '18 respectively, it was the other way around in these past two years. 2001-D'Backs 2002-Angels 2003-Marlins 2004-Red Sox 2005-White Sox ...who's next? |
