Beltran folded like a cheap hooker getting hit in the stomach by a fat guy with sores on his face.
Looks like he couldn't handle the pressure. Went down looking with 2 outs and bases loaded. he could have been the hero, but blew it. I really thought we had it. The Mets had several opportunities last night to make things happen, and just couldn't get people to cross the plate. The Cards played a good series, as did the Mets, but in the end, not having our 2 best pitchers on the mound meant the end of us. If you would have asked me all week, I woud have said "The Mets are going to the world series." It wasn't a predicition, I KNEW it, there was no room for doubt in my mind. So, this is a huge disappointment. Awesome catch by Endy. That might be the catch of the year. Well, at least I can go back to watching regular TV. I've been watching Mets games almost every night for the past month. |

Let's just hope its not another embarrassing sweep like it was against the Sox a couple years back.
But this year... I am feeling it. It's been 19 years since we won the world series. Let's GOOOO CARDS.

Hey, I was "feelin it" for the Mets.
Unfortunately, Detroit is a force to be reckoned with. The Cards will give them a run for their money, but I see Detroit taking it all this year. |

No excuses...if we'd won Game 2, I think we'd have won the series in 6...but our bullpen which had been reliable up to this point let the game go.
Pujols didn't do much, but Taguchi and Molina ripped us apart.

So do I. The Cards are a very solid team, but they don't have a very impressive record. Also, the Detroit pitching staff is the best I have ever seen in my life and I probably have never seen a lineup that has more balance from top to bottom than the one the Tigers boast. Albert Pujols will have a big series, but I think he will be the Cards only offensive threat because no one else has really done anything impressive in the postseason for St. Louis except for Yadier Molina, but he didn't have a good regular season, so I don't see him keeping up his success. I see St. Louis eeking out only one win, at best, in this series because they just aren't nearly the team they have been the last three or four years.

The Cardinals World Series victory just proves that what a team does during the regualar season is absolutely no indication of what they will do during the postseason. They deserved that championship because their lineup is dangerous from top to bottom, especially with Scott Rolen, Albert Pujols, and David Eckstein, their pitching staff is dominant with Jeff Suppan and Chris Carpenter, and they were definitely on a roll after beating the Mets. The Tigers just made way too many errors, didn't hit well enough from the start of the series, had too much rest after sweeping Oakland, and were too young and inexperienced in the first place to put up any kind of fight.
