I've been writing since I was little, but I only started writing (good) lyrics when I got into Evanescence, so I've only been doing it for a few years. My lyrics mostly reflect my Christianity and my moodniess (you might still be interested even if you're not Christian, I often make the subject broad enough so that it could apply to a few things). I just wrote lyrics to a song a few minutes ago, and I'm really excited by them. I don't know why. They're nothing compared to Amy Lee's masterpieces, but my style of writing is completely different from hers. I used to write Evanescence-style songs, but I realized that wasn't me at all. Anywho, here it is. I have tons more, if anyone cares. I might post them sometime later.

Sickened by my sickness

I feel my muscles growing stronger
I’m powerful, powerful in you
I feel my pulse beating faster
And I’m alive again
