If you actually read the posts, you would know that this style will be staying as the default layout. There will be another/other layouts to chose from for those who want a change (after all this layout can be quite boring at times.) If you're not going to contribute to the thread, don't post at all.
Back on-topic - I liked PaleIsBeautiful's idea, Pirates and Ninja layouts ftw!
