Totally agree. While there are a couple of songs on TOD that really are very good, overall the album lacked for me. The clip of Lacrymosa for that one teaser video made me think (and I hate comparisons) that it would be something similar to THOE. Very epic, very dark, and symphonic. While yes, there are some of those elements sprinkled in, overall it wasn't my taste in music. The lyrics were too shallow for me, and sadly it just seemed like an "I hate my boyfriend/bandmates/fans/cat" album. I'm sorry that you hate everyone, but can you please at least write one metaphorical song? I like interpreting lyrics for myself.
And I really hate how people on EvThreads continue to say it's not commercial and different. IMO, it sounds like a lot of the crap on the radio lately. It makes me "grr."
Oh, and Through my EYES, there is a thing called "public image." How would it look if Amy said before a big tour that they were all quitting forever and never reinvigorating Ev for a third album? Probably would make a lot of fans mad. So until touring is done, and everything settles down, NO ONE and I say NO ONE (even if you, who continues to think that everything that comes out of Amy's mouth is completely true) can say that Ev will make a third album, or die out and become a thing of the past.
