Melted.
Beating heart,
it bit
so quietly
in the tumults of my
near-forgotten sleep.
Glowing sun
outside my window,
busy rising
steadily...
as only deep inside
my being,
an eternal wintersnow
had fallen.
With one slight touch,
a figurative breath from you,
it all melted
(myself along with it)
leaving icy puddles
and soft-edged colors
once more returning
to my vision.
I will walk out barefoot,
my heart stuck
to my sleeve;
a beating grenade
full of love and fatigued smiles.
I see the beauty in the pain;
I feel the love in all the hurt.
And my heart aches
for you.
You make me whole;
but I am melted.
