Well, there are several different steps to it. I'll break it down briefly:

1. Solve the white "X" (beginners should start with white because it's the easiest to identify). This means putting the white center and white corners properly into place.

2. Put the colored corners (not including the yellow, which is opposite the white face) into the correct position. This means the blue corners need to be on the blue side, not necessarily on the blue face.

3. Solve the yellow "X"... once you do this, all of the corners on all the faces will be solved. All that will be left to do is solve all the middle pieces.

4. Solve the white and yellow faces. This is easy enough, you just pop white and yellow pieces from the middle layer up into their correct positions on either face.

5. Solve the remaining middle pieces in the middle layer (in between the white and yellow faces).

But each of those steps requires you to use different moves and be aware of different parts of the cube. Let me know which part you're stuck at, and I can help you along.
