i would look at an antidepressant but still continue on you with counselling even if you decide to see another counsellor. neither counselling or medication is going to work for everyone, it is often best when combined together, as medication will control serotonin levels and counselling will help you learn to develop coping stratergies and recognise signs.
i have feeling kylie that the doctor would not have prescribed her drugs and then said oh no don't take them. i t is much more likely to be a warning say be careful as depression does lead to sucide thoughts and its is mentioned in all my text books about antidepressives that caution needs to be taken with the patient as they could be suicidal. the drugs do not cause suicidal ideation.
