honestly. the 4 laptops in this house outrun any of the desktops we have.
the gateway is a 3.6ghz, my hp is a dual core 2.8ghz. my dad's laptop is a dual core 2.0ghz, my mom's toshiba is a 2.6 ghz. my daughters pc is a 2.6 ghz, mom's pc is a pentium 4 2.0 ghz. my broken pc equals out to be about 3.0 ghz or so. I think.

and it's not a bother to charge the battery. considering your desktop has to be plugged in to run. it's nice to be able to unplug it and go wherever you need. If you travel you can take it with you. If say you go to the hospital, you can take it with you. and when you're all said and done. you can hook it up on your computer desk. Plug in your monitor and voila. 2 monitors or just work off of the desktop monitor. if ya wanna get crazy you can add the desktop keyboard and mouse as well. I use a desktop trackball on my laptop. It's ultra convienient, because well, I just can't function with the lil scroll pad on the pc.
