Anyways, I think that the reason that Nightwish and Lacuna Coil are in this forum is because they do have a rather small following in the United States. You could mention KoRn or Slipknot to anyone and regardless of their scene that person will at least have heard of them. Nightwish and LC are another story. |
I'll have to disagree. Most LC and Nightwish fans are Gothic, here in the USA. 95% of all Gothics have heard of both bands. Have you ever gone to a LC or Nightwish concert? They're sure as hell not a small band. The people didn't chose to make these bands not mainstream, it was the bands that decided not to become mainstream. Korn and Slipknot are mainstream, that's the difference. That does not, however, make Nightwish or LC Indie or "small." They've been out for many many years, which throws out the "Indie" option. The "small" option, sure, talk to some Britney Spear fans and they'll say, "who?" but talk to some REAL Metal fans, and they'll know exactly who the bands are.
