From my dad's friend's brother, who is in a band and is a professional guitarist, he said to definitely learn on acoustic but then i can amp it if i want to. I don't need it to be loud, i just want to be able to play the electric songs that i know on my guitar.
3. And because this is evboard...are at least a few of the ev songs relatively easy to learn and can you play them on acoustic and have them sound half decent?

its easy to understand and it comes pretty quick.
2. Acoustic strings are thicker than electric ones. It doesn't really matter, you can start with either, whichever you prefer, and if you want you can amp the acoustic(having a guitar shop put pickup(s) and a jack later on if you want) but both have its pros/cons.
3. You will find the majority of Ev's songs are somewhat easy to play, for example the verse in Going Under is just one chord. Everybody's Fool is all power chords.
Being a guitarist as well i've got a few tips i'd like to add.
1. CORRECT PRACTICE makes perfect, you practice wrong and you do it wrong, so if you dont take lessons find a bud of yours who has played for a while or longer than you or is takin lessons and let them help.
2. More than 1 or 2 hours on one thing is to much, like axeslinger0u812 said, stop, take a break, or sleep on it. Try it later.
3. LEARN EVERY NOTE ON THE FRETBOARD, this is very important so you will can move along the board with ease.
4. STAY IN TUNE
5. if you notice the first 5 frets on each string(4 frets on the B String) all the notes are in order(chromatic scale) all the way down the strings,
if you dont understand, look at this(from thickest string down, Low E to High E)
