My Immortal

For me this song is about losing someone because he or she commited suicide.
And it shows what happens to the person that was left.
This is what I hear when I listen to My Immortal.

If I move, even though I'm tired of being here without you, then I'm afraid I will lose you again. But, leave please, because the love that I have for you, makes you stay with me, even though I am alone. You wanted to leave, and you did, but I can't leave my memory of you behind, time will pass, but I won't forget you, nor the pain your death brought. So now, help me to realize with my heart that you're really gone.

You used to captivate me by your resonating light / now I'm bound by the life you left behind / your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams / your voice has chased away all the sanity in me

It's like even though I tried so hard to make you be alright, all that I did, couldn't help you. You had all of me while alive, now you're dead.. and you took your life and mine with you. And what was left of life on me enough to don't die, is so full of you that I can't move on without you in person.

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone / but though you're still with me / I've been alone all along

That's finally when I understand that you're gone for good, phisycally. But, I carry you with me in my heart.
That last line, it's like... more like a regret. It's I've done all this for you, I've been by your side in your bad moments, trying to help you, but it seems like as I couldn't help you, that you've never really been with me. If you had, then I might have saved you.
