Fat is a nutrient, but you're still right.

For normal weight loss (ie: Not in Ketosis) you just have to burn more calories than you take in. The thing with most products containing live cultures (like yogurt) is there is a lot of sugar. Yop = Bad. Lots of things make you absorb more nutrients, but you're not going to absorb nutrients that aren't there because of it (Ie: Excess fat in yogurt).

I don't really see how this is a debate though. It's more a case of scientific fact.
