Tomorrow I'm going to be working changing permissions over so new members can see the majority of the site and post. Thats likely going to be a long process with all the forums and groups we have here. Is there anything broken around here that anyone can point out?

When it's open to everyone, how will you deal with the influx of spammers, because we'll certainly get those and mobs of n00bs fighting and posting the same old bullshit.

I honestly can't think of anything that's "broken" except for what seems to be a lack of a plan. Now, I'm not trying to say you're dumb and don't know what to do but is there a plan? What is the mod team going to look like, what are the new "rules" are there going to be any special member groups?

I really REALLY think there should be some type of plan before opening the flood gates.

Yes you have to have a plan for EvBoard. I've been here since EvBoard started (on another name) and I've seen lots of spammers, n00bs and such. Maybe think about new rules, what b00bles said, definitely a plan. And uh...pray, I guess.

We'll be opening up the boards to to certain areas of the site to begin with. I am currently trying to find out which mods are active and which are not. If need be I can have a handful of people here to control spamming but I'd like for the current staff to step up and actually "do their job" for lack of better words. I mean it is a mods job to deal with spam and I've only worked with free forums up till now. This is my first board that has been exclusive to memberships so I'm used to dealing with idiots and spammers. I've also worked on sites bigger than here so I think we'll be fine unless it ends up being just me against all the spammers. I'll admit I do need the help of current staff to keep things going right but I can handle it. I've got over 5 years experience with vbulletin and forums. Flood gates will be slowly opened

I think you're going to be hardpressed to find the mods who are actually semi-active around here. Most of the mods here are moderators on EvThreads, and thus spend all their time and energy there.
