Thanks for your comments, Vicky and Marcassa. Always nice to see new people visiting this thread.
My brain is just bursting with creativity right now, even though I'm back at college and don't have as much time for writing. I'll definitely post some of the newer poems at some point. In the meantime, here's something I wrote last semester. Let me know what you guys think!

Seaside Meditation
An orange hole brands the sky,
Dyeing the sea it swims in,
Periwinkle, lavender, crimson, then black.
Angry waves once battered the shore,
Now, as light fades into dark,
They are calm, hoping to be my friends.
The rushing of water soothes me.
Lying on the beach, waiting,
Breathless and still, a human starfish.
Chills reverberate through my skin,
As the bubbly sea foam crawls over my feet,
Then slowly retreats to its home.
My eyes drift to the sky above.
Tiny diamonds sparkle in the deep night,
Jeweled dots that last until dawn.
I sink into the sand beneath me,
Letting the earth embrace me.
Not swallowed, but gently touched
As I rest, the faint smell of sea salt,
Floats through the sultry air,
In and out, just like the tides.
Closing my eyes, I became absorbed by
The ocean breeze, the cloudless sky,
The tranquil beach, and my blissful state….
As I dipped into a deep and peaceful sleep.
