i originally read pride and prejudice for my ap english lit class. it was the first book i actually enjoyed reading that was assigned for school.

like most girls, i loved the character lizzy. she is just too amazing. and of course, despite his limited socializing skills, i loved darcy. the two of them together is just happy mushyness in my opinion.

the first line of the novel is great. i forget the right word, something a little less harsh than sarcastic...but thats the tone of it.

the characters in general are great though. i would love to have mr. bennet for a father. mrs bennet is an absolute pain, and if i had lydia for a sister, i think id go insane.

if you have the time and are mature, i suggest reading mr. darcy takes a wife. it's a sequel to pride and prejudice but it is not written by austen. it is written by a woman with the last name berdoll i believe. i just finished it yesterday and i could not put it down. although some parts are a bit risque, the plot is fantastic and the characters are pretty true to form. some moments literally had me laugh out loud while others i was like "omg no!" or "awww".

it's great really. and the woman is either planning to write, or is writing a sequel to mr. darcy takes a wife
