In a flash,
the ground that I once
stood upon
crumbled
from underneath -
leaving everything above it
to lose its balance
and fade
into nothingness.

Here I lay,
afraid to go to sleep
again...
remembering too much,
breathing too little
and crushed
under the weight
of feeling.
I am lost,
drowning
in this darkness,
inhaling nothing
but more thoughts,
more pain
and more pills...
until the bottle lies empty,
on the floor,
by my side.
Here I am,
crying myself to sleep
again...
but this time never to wake up.
