Beautiful Things

When the darkness,
the darkness
shall take over day,
there are the stars,
filling emptiness,
mapping our way.

Wandering, lost
in an enraptured forest
of my thoughts...
weary, afraid
that this won't ever go away.
But I know
that I am not in this
all alone,
and if it weren't for such
darkness,
I may have
never come across
your light.
Remember,
forever,
that you have
so much more strength
beyond any means that you know;
it radiates
from your words,
your determination,
your soul...

...so when tears
run down
into the darkness
of dirt,
the worst of our dreams...
know that out of it will
g r o w
such beautiful things.
