9/11 Memorial Thread 2006
Since the anniversery Of September 11th is tomarrow I decided to make a memorium thread.
![]() September 11th Is A Day that will be engraved in our mind's forever, I don't think anyone should push it in the back of their minds. Lately I've noticed that no one has Really Cared about 9/11 (at least where i live). what are your thoughts about this? Also, People always say they remember what they were doing when the North Tower was struck or when they heard about it. Is this true for everyone else? xo-megan |

Well, i certainly haven't forgotten 9/11. But, I don't remember where i was or what i was doing.
I think its appalling that anyone could forget 9/11...whoever did needs to be locked up in a room and be forced to watch the news coverage from 9/11; watch what happened, watch the chaos....maybe that'll jolt their memory... My school is gonna be doing that tomorrow. Not with the locking up thing of course, but they're gonna be having an assembly thingy where they're gonna be showing the stuff..... |

I don't think anyone has stopped caring, as you say they have. It's something we may not think about a lot anymore, but we certainly haven't forgotten it. It's not something you can easily forget.
I do remember what I was doing at the moment it happened. I was 15 at the time, a sophomore in high school. I was in school at the time, it was 2nd period. No one ever forgets something like that. P.S. You shouldn't double post, it's against the rules. Just to let you know. Edit your post next time. |

Really..who could forget 9/11?
I remember, after finding out about what happened being in absolute panic because my dad travels often and is often in New York. I had no idea if he was alive or what state he was in. My Mom checked me out of school that day and the first thing she said to me was "Your Dad is okay...he's in Georgia". |

I havn't forgotten.
I was in Virginia. Working with the elderly when I heard about the first plane hitting the towers. I was in disbelief. I turned on the tv just as the second plane hit. It was unbelievable that this could have happened. I told one of my co-workers and we both started crying. Then we heard about the other planes. It was frightening. I remember that the base my husband at the time was stationed at went into high alert. Everything was crazy. I was 8 months pregnant at the time, so that was even more frightening. As I didn't know what was going to happen with my x-husband. If he would get shipped out to sea or what. I remember seeing the Pentagon a couple of months after it happened. Something like this doesn't really have the impact as it does when you see it in person. It kinda gives you that final reality of it. Kinda like the OKC bombing. It didn't really sink in until I went and visited the site where the building stood. All there was was an empty lot with empty chairs. |

I think all the brave firefighters responsible for saving a lot of the people in the towers really need to be recognized. Those who made it out, and those who didn't.

I for sure will never forget this. I remember what I was doing at the time of the attack, it was 4th lesson at my school (in the UK, so it was much later here) playing table tennis. And I was on the bus on the way home, my friend came to me and told me about the attack, that she had watched it on tv, and I didn't believe her.
That day, I ran home from school. I stayed glued to the tv. At 15 I'd never seen something so horrifying before, I'll never forget the sirens. I'm crying every time I watch something relating to the firemen on that day. The bravery of such people I will never forget. Ordinary people who had nothing to do with the atrocities of extremism and who were just living out their lives, people with families, homes, loved ones. I don't see how anyone couldn't be in tears watching that. The UK won't forget 9/11. I can promise you this. Our tv's have been showing documentaries on every aspect of it imaginable. But nobody could forget it. That would take a certain kind of inhumaness that nobody but the worst of people possess. |

I wont forget that horrible day!
On that day, I wasnt at school. We didnt had clases. I remember waking up and I saw my mother in front of the TV very worried.. I watched and there was the image of the first place crashing on the tower.. Now, every time I see images from that tragedy, I cant believe it... Its so sad! That horrible felling, imagining what those people saw! |
