AR Biz Directory reported: ... "Singer Amy Lee sent her Little Rock family a CD of the final mixes last weekend. "We sat around the living room and cranked it up," reports dad John. "We were blown away.""
Upon ejecting the CD, John heard loud nagging and spine-tingling screams coming from their front yard, and when peeking through a window, he noticed a manic flock of people frolicking around in the family home's garden. John (clearly chocked up) says during a phone interview with a local newspaper; "I knew I shouldn't have played it so loud, I just knew it". He has now sent the CD to a bank for it to be locked up in the vault, safely put in the family's safetybox that already houses negatives of family photos. He says he did it to protect the family. "I was scared people would break into the house to look for it".
"The whole thing was unreal; they even had a bonfire made, and it reminded me of a chapter in William Golding's "Lord of the Flies"", says Lee who had to get assistance from other family members to push the masses of people away from the house's walls. "We had to use garden tools to purge the clinging masses. I used a hoe, but they pulled it into the crowd and basically devoured it. Luckily I had alot of rakes and spades, and we were able to scare off quite a few of the irksome intruders that way".
The what we would call "possessed mob", was mostly young men and women in their mid-twenties. Some were forcibly trying to enter the house, while others sat on the lawn in what could only be described as some sort of trance. "Several of the trespassers were sitting on the ground rocking back and forth like they were possessed, while others were walking in circles flailing their arms in the air and foaming at the mouth". It wasn't until Lee brought out the high pressure garden hose that the masses scattered and dissolved.
Minor damages were made to the house, and Lee has to repaint the walls. "There are scratchmarks all over; they basically removed all the paint some places".
What worries the celebrity dad the most though, is that parts of the album might have been recorded by some of the sneaky listeners. "I saw several kids with their mp3 players out; aiming them at a half-open window".
There has been no news on whether possible recordings have been leaked, but John hopes the kids will do the right thing and keep them to theirselves until the album comes out October 3rd.
Oddly enough, the police were never contacted during the incident, but John says he was very ready to give them a call. "It was quite the show. There are still a few kids romping around on our lawn, but we deem them harmless for now. They look like peaceful hippies", he utters with a giggle.
