Now this is a quality thread....4 srs.

I am with RedRooster though. There's so many!

Ok this list is purely based on joy-factor as it were not necessarily mechanics, graphics or what have you:

5- Dig Dug (coin-op version or MAME)
One of the best coin-ops ever. Never got tired of it.

4- Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1)
Roleplaying feel with a strategy format? Um, yes! Xenogears is a close tie here but FFT wins.

3- Quake 1 (PC)
Wolfenstien and Doom were awesome but this was the shiz at the time.
No other fps had that first time PvP madness feel as Quake 1. That's what makes it special to me.

2- WarCraft 2 (PC)
RTS w00t! and still the best ever. Talk about replay value...this game invented that!

1 -Diablo II :LOD (PC)
Basically this game was the best thing next to actually playing D&D. Today it's still good because of fervent modding and it doesn't suck out your soul like WoW or Evercrack.

That was a tough list to compile.

You guys need to check out this new fps called "Prey"....very interesting!
