That little girl
finally met someone new
somebody better
somebody true.
It was not who
she thought it would be.
She thought she had buried them
deep within the sea.
But this person came back
from the girl's horrid past
a completely changed person
she hopes will last.
She loves her new
old best friend
that she wants to last
until the end.
She knows she's been
down this same path before
where she was led astray
and left to ignore.
Their friendship had come
crashing down one day
and there was nothing left
but to walk away.
Now they are back
to give it one more try
only this time nothing
will be a lie.
So far things
are going great.
They're starting over
with a new clean slate.
And the little girl is happy
to have her best friend back
and to get their lives
back on track.
