Did you even read what I was responding to? Although I slightly regret responding right away, I was being attacked myself and on sleeping medication. But this is not an apology. The example this sets is that if you want to start a public dish-out, you may just get it. Otherwise keep things private in the first place. This isn't an "I'm gonna start talking a bunch of crap about you and expect you to lie down while I do it" kind of place.

I am going to say this once, and one time only. The smack talk that is going on about other members on this board in the chatroom or otherwise needs to cease. If a chatlog is reviewed and is found to have any type of negativety towards a fellow member the offenders will be given warnings. Likewise, if I hear of unsubstaniated neg-repping going on, I will also be giving warnings.

You mean there's actually a way for people to read previous conversations
in the chat? Huh.

I don't believe I've ever been one to badmouth people in the chat, not to
my knowledge. But if it turns out I have, then I do appologize.

A lot of chat rooms on sites have chat moderators, that can temporarily
bad people from the chat and such. I don't know if this chat room has a
way you can do that, but if this is really an issue, than maybe it's
something worth looking into?

Only mods have access to previous chat logs. Regular members can't access entire conversations that occurred. At best, you can read the few lines of chat that happened directly prior to your entry into the chat itself.

The mods, again, have this ability, but they can't do anything if they're not in the chatroom when this happening. There isn't always a mod around to remedy the problem immediately (not to mention members would probably avoid the behavior in front of the mods anyway).

I bashed people in the chat but those people already know I dislike them/find them annoying because I show it openly. I don't make a big deal about it because I cannot like everyone. I am pretty sure that people who dislike me do the same. And even if they don't do it in the forum/chat, they'll find another way.

You can dislike someone and also not waste your time whining about them. It's pretty easy - you just don't say anything. And if you absolutely need to vent about what a fucking two-faced bitch someone is, you can do it off the board. I think that's mostly what Mel is getting at... keeping the drama out of the chat and off of the board.
