A Scanner Darkly [MOVIE]
Anyone seen this yet? It's been out in america for a while and it came out here on the 18th.
I've read a few reviews, of this in papers and magazines, and no one seems to want to commit to saying that it's either good or bad. I can kind of see why. If it's your type of film you'll enjoy it, but it it's not it will be the most dull 100 minutes of your life. Luckily it's my type of film, and I enjoyed every second of it. It stayed pretty true to the book, and only changed the plot slightly (although arguable, it COULD be the same in the book, just not shown.) I thought the rotoscoping looked amazing, and is the probably only way to convincingly do a scramble suit. Don't ask me about the plot - I'm pretty sure you're all capable of going over to imdb or wikipedia or even (shock!) your local bookshop. Unfortunately the film wasn't showing at the three cinemas closest to me, so I had to go on an hour long bus journey, on a bus that was literally sloshing with water. Film was worth it though. ![]()
