This is a song I wrote for someone dear to me just before moving away. I wrote it at 3 A.M. whilst listening to Nightwish, the person for which this song was for being asleep at the time (and during a thunderstorm, too).

I absolutely love this. I feel like I can somehow relate to it.

That part speaks to me. It reminds me of when my brother died and I used to dream him all the time. Whenever I was awake, all I'd have was memories of him and people faking sympathy.

You truly have a gift for writing I'm looking forward to some more stuff.

Loss is difficult to deal with; I remember when my grandmother died--I felt she was the closest person in the family to me--and though I was young, I could understand what happened, while my younger sister could not. I'm not sure, but that is probably different than the loss of a sibling...I bet that hits a person a lot harder.

Here is a poem I wrote the year before last, and publishers have tried to get me to let them publish it (but I don't let them because I don't agree with paying $60 for a poetry anthology just so that you can be in it. If anyone can buy their way into it, it's just not the same).

Severed

"Darkness, my dear
Take me far away from here
My love does not stand upon these haunted shores
And as the day passes by
I sit alone and cry

I remember that it was partly inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "Annabel Lee," which is one of my favorite poems.

I love the correlation between your work and Poe's, and the imagery of waves crashing. There's something so incredibly romantic and untamed about the ocean in poetry. Keep up the good work.
