About the Ads on EVboard - EvBoard

Alright gang, here is the skinny on the ads. Since we've made EVboard free for memberships the guys over at ForumFactory need to generate revenue somehow. So ads will be staying inplace. However those who are current paid subscribers wont see them on, its going to be one of their perks.

At this point there will be no more subscriptions but in the future we may open up a donations feature that might take the place of subscriptions that will elimnate the ads from the accounts of those who donate along with some other perks. This isn't set in stone though and things could change, I just wanted to keep everyone informed.

Well, unless they are floating across the screen or flashing enough to cause an epileptic seizure, I don't mind the ads. I'll even click on a few if I'm not too busy. :P
The donations thing sounds okay, but really, what's wrong with the PS system? It seems to have worked well for the board, at least until it all went PS.

Lazarus is an admins dream member, clicking on adverts. I do that for sites I like too, click their ads. But most people just block them or gripe.

I'm glad there's no subscription REQUIREMENT to see and post in all the forums. I wouldn't be here

But I like paid subscription options to give members extra bonuses if they want them, like freedom from attachment limits (or just bigger ones) and stuff like that.

hahaha, I'd say the same. At least they aren't those big annoying adds that cover up most of the screen

I don't really mind the ads either, most of the time I overlook them. Can someone tell me (since I'm still new here) what the "PS system" is? Thanks!

That would be the "Paid Subscribers" and it was a group for people that paid for a subscription. They had more privileges, like not seeing the ads, but that group will be terminated with the new administration
