Acne

I know there used to be a thread dedicated to Acne before the crash, and it had heaps of really useful information on the topic. I have horrendous acne, and I was wondering if any of you guys could help? Home-Grown remedies, Company-Manufactured, whatever, I just can't stand having Acne anymore!

Roaccutane. It has the reputation to be a some kind of miracle when it comes to acne. People exaggerate a lot about the bad effects it has on your body though, don't take it too seriously.

Try to drink a lot, water is sooo good for your skin (for your whole body, duh). Don't take it higher than 2.5 l per day though. Exaggeration is never good.

Don't touch your skin yourself, at least try to do so the less possible. Avoid the sun..and uhm, ahh this is hard. I don't have to deal with it. But I do know water is great, so do that Oh yeah, please don't try to dry your skin out. I know someone who used to do that, please don't. It's so bad. Hydrate it, actually.

darkraven2022 is on a distinguished road
Actually, I heard that sun was good for getting rid of acne. It seemed to help mine a lot. Don't take my word for it though. My brother has this face wash and gel stuff he got from the dermatoligist. It works really well. I'm not sure what it is but it's perscription only.

I've always had really clear skin, thank God.
I wash my face every night and drink more water per day than a fucking blue whale consumes in an entire lifetime, I swear. And I definately do notice the difference. More creamy like complexition...Less visible pores, etc.

I have a friend with bad acne, and he swears by ProActive. I'd definatelyr try it.

Oh, no, no! Please, please don't use toothpaste to get rid of acne. While it might stop it temporarily, it'll actually make your acne appear even in your twenties. It's some kind of complicated chemical reaction of some sort, I don't know for sure. What I do know is that it's going to keep coming back if you use toothpaste.

I'd rather suggest going to a dermatologist and see what he can perscribe you (if you say that you have REALLY bad acne). I used to have it, but Clearasil seemed to work fine for me. Now my face is all nice and clean.

Anyway, good luck. And remember, no toothpaste!

My Acne isn't REALLY bad, it's just weird, it's hard to explain. With most of the things you guys have mentioned, where would I find them?

Dermatologist, my friend Don't buy any stuff like that. Most dermatologic stuff is not to buy without prescription anyway. They can decide the best what you need; it all depends on where you have acne, the badness of it, the kind of, etc.

Well, I guess you could find most stuff in a normal pharmacy. And you can be sure that most of the products work (of course, this depends on your skin type, too), seing that they needed to be tested for efficiency before they could be released for sale in a pharmacy. (I hope that made sense, lol).
