I'm going to add my two cents. I'm not looking to spark up any more debate or comments or whatever. I've read the entire thread and pretty much everything has been picked apart and beaten to death.
Anyhoo. I feel really sad. Amy has never been a very good live performer save for the acoustic versions of songs where her voice definitely soars and sounds absolutely beautiful (but anyone can do acoustic). As a singer myself, it is actually painful to hear Amy just yell instead of sing. This is what she has been doing during concerts since forever. But you know what, this is how she sings on the official tracks as well. She's a pusher when it comes to her voice. That happens to be her style and it's starting to bite her in the ass. Back to why I feel sad. Amy, by far, has much more talent than a lot of modern day singers. BUT she has no idea how to use it. She could be bloody brilliant and amaze everyone if she just took care of herself and her voice. Sometimes she gets lucky and does beautifully live but this is rare. For Amy it's mostly really fucking bad or just ok. I wish that I could call her up and tell her that her voice is beautiful but she's fucking up badly. And to do this while her name is sort of going downhill....I feel sorry for her. Could be because I'm clinging on to the old Evanescence. I'm almost in denial really LOL. As is a pattern with Amy, she probably isn't going to just "slow down." She likes to put up an entertaining performance even if it compromises her ability to sing properly. She wont take a break unless her voice is totally shot. I think, though, if she just barely makes it through this tour..she could probably save her voice if she starts to take care of it properly. That is a big IF though. I just don't understand how someone who claims to be "in it for the music" would be so careless with the music and the number one instrument--her voice. I feel more of a sadness-esque feeling towards all of this really. It's like I've fallen in love with a voice that no longer exists. |

This feels like a prologue to Amy's voice funeral. ![]() But I feel the same way about most of it.

I believe most of us have heard the Lacrymosa performance in Israel and we can all agree she had a horrible night. Instead of screaming her lungs out AND sounding horrible, she could have taken a rest. I'm sure the fans would have been disappointed, but honestly, if you really appreciate the music you would understand that her voice is getting a beating and would just give her a break. I'm not saying that this is the ONLY bad performance, but by far the most publicized. Hopefully, during her little "break" she'll take some care of her voice.

I believe amy can sing like her album recordings but not very often on stage because on stage she uses about 40% correct technigue but like katya said when your standing still and you can focus on you technique than she probably ends up using 80% correct technique on the album. I am just wondering why amy looks at her bad recordings and thinks i dont need training? maybe she thinks it will change her voice for the worse, or she believes that her voice is as good as it is going to get. I bet amy will take training because she constantly challenges herself with much harder songs and there is only so much you can do if your not using good tecnique. But seriously i think amy would be fine at making records all day when she focuses on good technique but when it comes to live performances all her bad habits kick in. why dosent someone just say, look amy you have such a good voice but you need vocal training or you will end up with throat nodes.
