I concur. Even if she doesnt care, she has an obligation until the end of this album era. Loads of people would be rioting outside her house if they just quit out of thin air (And I bet the majority of them would be from EvThreads.)

Amy really should get lessons. If she wants evanescence to live on and keep people going to the live shows then she should learn to sing live. She breathes into the microphone way too much, if she didn't do that it would atleast be a small improvement. The fact that she doesn't bother to get lessons and probably knows how horrible she is live proves that she could give a shit less about the band. The only reason I would go to see them live anymore is the instruments. Amy atleast almost could control her voice back in the fallen era.

Well I'm of mixed opinion. I think she doesn't do a GREAT job, like she used to sound pretty much the same on a lot of old shows, but her voice has improved live (range, etc) although sometimes it doesn't seem that way ... HOWEVER, The way she's going, performing while her voice isn't in good shape, due to sickness, or tiredness or whatever, will ruin it. I definitely agree she needs vocal coaching to help her support her vocals more.

And on the subject of her "quitting" in November, I highly doubt it, She's said in numerous interviews about the third album, or writing new material. Tim said he's not going anywhere, and Terry doesn't appear to be either.
Aaaand, I know she's said a few times about the band not being around in the future, but I don't see it happening within the next 4-5 years. Maybe after the next album, who knows.
We'll just see what happens in the next Evanescence era. I just pray they make a smush of Origin/pre-fallen songs + songs like The Only One/Your Star for the next record.

Well I've never seen EV live.... not that I even want to anymore

But I do have seen alot of videos and I must say that I do like the ones from the Fallen tour way better then TOD tour.

For example, the Rock Am Ring from 2004, she sang Farther Away so perfectly.... this has always been my favo live song......... but now, it looks like she can't catch enough breathe to sing the songs (I'm talking about all). I heard that Sweet Sacrifice the high note is great (i've not heard it myself, because I can't find a live video of that one)....... but now I hear even that has gone bad.

All I'm trying to say is, that she seems like a much better singer before then now. Maybe it's now she has to put more energy in her performance, since the songs need a lot to get the crowd actually in the mood.

And yes, she could use some vocal lesson.s Seriously!

I've been saying for ages that she needs voice lessons. People here have pretty much covered everything...she does a lot of stuff wrong. In fact, the list of what she does right is a lot shorter than the list of what she does wrong.

Personally, I'm not entirely sure that it's because she just doesn't care...her really sucking lately could be her not caring enough to really try, but I would think that she cares about her voice. She has said that she warms up every day; to what extent, I would love to see. However, I think that she's got too high of an opinion about her voice to recognize the fact that she should get a vocal coach, even if it was just to get some extra exercises or something.

If you're in a good choir, you will get a touch of vocal technique training. A touch. Not a lot. Any serious singer needs to have extra training or her voice will get blown out...and I'm thinking that Amy's voice is full on its way to getting blown out. Which is a shame...despite her not sounding good live lately, I do have memories of amazing concerts and I <3 her voice on the albums. There's no denying that her voice is very powerful...and with the right tools, it could become extremely impressive.

When i saw them play at the beginning of the year, they absolutley kicked ass. i do believe her voice was the best ive heard her sing.....uno, in comparison to the Tokyo and Paris concerts.

I'd like to take a moment to admire everyone for the lack of if-you-criticize-Amy-and-don't-blindly-follow-her-you-are-anti-ev posts. This is the reason I love this board.
Meh...I'd be interested see what may be put out next, but I don't see Amy's heart being into this anymore. Or, like others have said, she's in it for the wrong reasons.

Something interesting that has been pointed out before: Amy uses writing as a way to purge her system and get over old issues. With the exception of a few "zOmg Rocky and John were so mean!11!!" singles, what else does she really have to purge that she hasn't before? And if she does an album of Good Enoughs, she's better off stopping before she even began
