He actually was in a boy band when he was younger. It was called "Dream Street," and me and my best friend were in love with them. Mind you, we were 11 at the time, and had yet to discover GOOD music, LMFAO. But yes, it does sound like a boy band gone horribly wrong...LOL.

^maybe you've just been hearing commercial rap all your life. in REAL hip hop the lyrics aren't 'horrible' they tell there stories, what they been through, as well as messages.

I agree. People tend to judge rap and hip-hop based on what the radio plays, but the commercial rap and hip-hop scene is so shallow, while the real deal is very deep stuff.

Try Common, Talib Kweli, KRS-One for starters. They're pretty good and socially concious.

I like to think Kanye's somewhat socially concious too...but he's sort of an ass, in my opinion.

Sidenote...on the Staind fan forum, I posted an interview with Aaron & Mike that a DJ from a local station did. Her name's Kaytie and someone was like, "Everytime I see this I think it says Kanye," and then another person said, "I could imagine how that would go. Aaron would look at him like he was retarded and Kanye would talk about himself the entire time and it would be over." LOL.
