Band geeks anyone?

I know that "band", and "geeks" and "band geeks" have been mentioned here before but I wanted to make an official thread. So let's start it off!

Hi! I'm Emily. I'm a bandaholic...I'm addicted to bandahol! But anywhoo, my list of instruments: Oboe (primary instrument, concert band) 2 years, baritone horn (Played in Drum Corps...I am a corps nut too) played since November, trombone (marching band and jazz band that's kinda falling apart but that's another story) since August, and last but not least clarinet (I started off on this instrument) 7 years.

So which brings me to this question...Who else is a band geek here? Don't be shy! Speak out and embrace the geekyness!

Emily *^^*

I'm not a stereotypical "geek" or whatever, but I do take music class in Highschool. I play the trumpet, and i'm pretty good

Im a jack of all trades with many instruments...A master of none...do i count

Violin (my first instrument) 2 years, 6 classes a week.

Piano, taught myself years ago. I dont steadily practice, but I can normally play what i see. The first piece i memorized was Fur Elise.

Drums/Xylophone/Bell percussion - The bells/xylophone were my best because, naturally, they're like a piano. Drums are just easy if you follow rhythm.

Bass Guitar- had to learn it for jazz band- its sorta like the piano for me.

Trombone- forced to learn for 2 years. I hate it. I hate brass instruments. e.e

Do i count? =| I dont really like band now, but its 'okay'.

techno geek, while I can only play guitar and bass, I can fix or maintain just about anything that a band might need to use, from stringed instruments, amplifiers, mixers, effects etc.
does that qualify me?

Not "technically" a band geek, but you seem cool enough and very talented so sure, why the heck not *^^*

I don't think anyone that takes high school band (or college. whatever) is the stereotypical "band geek" portrayed in movies. I played clarinet in band in elementary school, and later switched to bass guitar. I'm still taking band right now.

We've never met..have we?

Well, not so much now, but during early (and parts of later) highschool I was a band geek. I spent most of my time attached to my instrument, and I formed my 'circle' of friends around it. Meh, being a band geek was pretty cool for me, I enjoyed it and got along w/ all the people there.

and you know what? WE HAD BAND CAMP! FIVE TIMES!@#!@#!@#
