Biff has stuff?

I figured why the hell not. I waste my time recording shit, so why not share?

Firstly, an introduction:

The Gear

On the left: Gibson Epiphone strat-style, Seymour Duncan Hotrail humbucker at the bridge.
On the right: Jackson DK2T Dinky, Seymour humbuckers dumped for EMGs.

On the left: My old-but-still-does-the-trick Yamaha PSR-220 full-size midi keyboard, variable sustain, touch sensitive keys.
On the right: Line 6 Spider II half-stack, FBV4 footswitch

Microphone I use for, well, micing shit: TEAC TM77 unidirectional.

The Talent

Biff:

The Results

This first track is something that I recorded and mixed about a year or so ago while messing around. It's loosely based on the hidden song at the end of the Staind - Dysfunction cd, where Aaron Lewis is singing with an acoustic guitar. I've elaborated a bit on the acoustic, added some delay, and I've also added an electric solo throughout. Yes, I know it's sloppy, but both tracks were done in one take. I put this together in about half an hour.
Download here.

This second track I recorded tonight during the SuperBowl (shows you how much I give a crap about football). This is the slow piano/rain bit from Evanescence - Eternal. I whipped this one up in about an hour, 6 tracks in total, including an electric solo throughout. All were done in one take, except the main piano riff, which took me two. You'll notice extreme sloppiness here, especially toward the end where I stopped giving a shit. You'll also notice that the rain loop is pretty short, I'm missing the acoustic, and various other bits. But for an hour's work, it'll suffice.
Download here.

I always say that I'll get around to cleaning up the crap that I record and put them down right, but I hardly ever do. Oh well. It's all in fun anyway.

*New:
Video
So I woke up this morning and rolled out of bed and decided to take a page out of Bristlehead's book and record a video of some guitar action. Evanescence - Lacrymosa . The audio in this sounds assy because it's from a videocamera mic. I didn't do a direct feed into the computer. I decided to use the Stratty for this because the Jackson is sitting in a very low tune and I didn't want to bring it back up to standard. I realize that the real song has a moment of high delay and low distortion, but I just kept the dirt full-on. I didn't feel like reprogramming the Spider II for one tiny section of the song. Also, I know I goofed a powerchord toward the end. Oops. Whatever. This was my 2nd take. The first take was a messjob. Keep in mind, I had just woken up; I'm still in a T-shirt and sweat pants (sexy, I know).
View here. (streaming wmv)

Enjoy.

Biff! I have that half stack too. I want to show you... hmm. GOOD GOOD GOOD I like your stuff.

I also have a Dimebucker -- I bought it for a Dime-style project guitar that I was putting together with a friend but he's an asshole so... it's sitting in a pile now. IF ANYONE NEEDS A DIMEBUCKER, I'm not that into metal right now and need a crunchier tone so I need a new pickup... CHEEP PRICE!

Both are EMG HZ H4. Basically the non-active version of the 81. I don't care for active pickups, cuz on Line 6 amps, which have a retardedly high-gain input stage, active pickups just make a noisy mess.

As far as gain goes, the combination I have is unstoppable. No need for a Dimebucker.

But yeah, your axe is phat. Do you run any pedals into the MG?

Awesome, the 81 is a wicked pickup, a Kirk Hammett special, equally as bitey I would say as the s/duncan, I know what you mean about a noisy mess with active pickups, Mine is fine as long as your 10 meters away from the amp, any closer and its feedback central!!
Pedal wise I have a digitech rp200 which I cant figure out how to put my fave effects next to each other for easy use , But my fave is the boss metal zone. Ballsy as fuck.

I just added a goofy video of me playing Lacrymosa in the main post toward the bottom.

*edit: made it a streaming wmv instead of an mpg.
