Bionic Woman[TV]
I haven't found a thread about this fantastic show.
I have not seen the 70's original, but this show just kicks arse! Michelle Ryan is the hottest thing on TV at the moment, and for Pom, she pulls off the American accent brilliantly. I have seen only three episodes so far and am already hooked! What does everyone else think of the show?

*Chants* Katee Sackhoff, Katee Sackhoff, Katee Sackhoff. Huh, main character? Oh yeah, Michelle Ryan's alright.
![]() I like the show well enough. Most of the dialogue could use work- really, all of the writing could use work- but it's exciting, and fun to watch. I haven't been following that faithfully, so I don't know if the show has made a rebound from that terribly rushed pilot. Regardless....Katee Sackhoff! Even if she's just in a guest star role.

This Bionic Woman remake is the new Alias! I love it!
I agree that the writing needs work, espeicially the dialogue, but so far I love all of the choices for characters. I have to admit that I like the "bad" bionic woman better than the main character. I think her character is the best written and the actress pulls her off perfectly. I also like the character Ruth so far. She's cool, calm and mysterious, which makes me wonder what's her background? The relationship between Sarah and Jae is fascinating to watch, so I really hope they show us more of that, and they better sign Katee on as a regular! I'm hooked and will definitely be following this new show! |

She wasn't "doing" the accent - she was just talking in her normal dialect since the actress is british. I think that she does the American accent pretty well, but I wonder if it affects the way she is able to act... because I know what you mean. I find some of her emotions rather subdued or under-played. I don't know how long she has played American charcters, but perhaps it might get better. Otherwise she needs to kick it up a notch.

The final of Bionic Woman is tomorrow, seems soon considering we've seen less than 12 episodes...could this have something to do with the writers strike?

I was wondering if (or when, rather) the writers strike would affect the show. I wouldn't be surprised if the short season was indeed because of the strike, but it would worry me a little bit about future seasons. I've been hearing that the first shows to get the axe because of the strike are new shows, so if that's the case I really hope it's not because of the strike. They could have just scheduled a short season to make room for another new show to begin mid-season. Who knows. Not. Cool.

My opinion? The networks should lay off showing new programs, and just show repeats, or shows they don't think will rate well, until this whole thing is resolved. It doesn't seem fair that a show that people might actually watch be cancelled because of a pay dispute. ![]()

Not yet. I have heard rumours, but I don't think anything has been confirmed yet. I know that the ratings are not that good, so it will probably be cancelled. Before that happens, I hope they can give the show a good ending.
