I also LOVE Cradle of Filth, but I refuse to call them black, or death metal. They're just...metal. With the exeption of their earlier albums, those are black metal.

@ Bleeding Trust. Yeah Cradle of Filth (and Dimmu Borgiur) aren't Black Metal, there's actually a genre for them out there and its called Faggoth (means Faggot Goth) I've met random people from all over the world and world wide they're known as Foggoth for being try hard Black Metal and only pulling off the goth. I'm a COF fan myself, but I find that quiet funny. I love their music but Dani Filth is a good frontman for the band, but even if they had a different singer the band could be much much better.

I love all those bands too. My boyfriend's band has played with Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse. He talks to them all the time actually.

black metal suffers from painful elitism that is pretty much unwarranted.

I don't listen to it much myself, but my hat goes majorly off to Darkthrone and their latest work

It would be weird if you said black metal and listed any one of those bands except Mayhem, because Deicide, Megadeth and Evanescence aren't black metal.

I know what you mean. I always get the weird looks when I'm listing a bunch of bands I like, including black and death metal bands then mention Evanescence.
But who cares, they say a wide range of music is a great musical mind. haha...I don't exactly have a wide range of music...Everything form heavy rock to most genres of metal. But I'm a proud fan of every band I like.

<3 Darkthrone. I got rid of my Darkthrone sig. I think I should change it back though.
