Yay, all my puzzles were solved! Must come back when I think of more. Oh and by the way, just to confirm
Divide 30 by half and add 10: [12 because half of 30 is 15 and then you add ten] Sorry all, just wanted you to think out of the box. Ping pong puzzle: [fill it with water so it'll float to the top (and yes, ping pongs are less dense than water)] |

a) Peter picked one pepper more than Paul. Pat picked one pepper more than Pam. Peter and Paul picked 10 more peppers than Pat and Pam. Peter, Paul, Pat and Pam picked 60 peppers. How many peppers did Peter pick?
b) A man died, leaving $10,000,000 for his widow, 5 sons and 4 daughters. Each daughter received an equal amount, each son received twice as much as a daughter, and the widow received three times as much as a son. How much did the widow receive? c) Replace the asterisks by the correct mathematical signs to make the expression equal to 99. 16 * 12 * 2 * 3 = 99 d) A certain number consists of two digits. The number is equal to five times the sum of its digits. If you add 9 to the number, the order of its digits is reversed. What is the number? e) I have five letters and five addressed envelopes. If I place the letters in the envelopes at random, what are the chances that only four letters are in their correct envelopes? f) Beth is 16 years younger than Jo. In 10 years time Jo will be twice as old as Beth. How old are they now? ---- The cryptogram posted before is hurting my brain. Seriosly hurting hehe

The answer to (e) is 0, if 4 of the letters are inthe correct envelope, then the last one must also be in the correct envelope. But the others are seriously hurting me! |

You are in a room in a building. There are only two rooms in the building, and there are no windows in either room. The room you are in has three switches, which operate three light bulbs in the other room. You need to deduce which switch operates which light bulb. You may only enter the other room once. How is this possible?
A mountain goat attempts to scale a cliff sixty feet high. Every minute, the goat bounds upward three feet but slips back two. How long does it take for the goat to reach the top?

[Alright, this gets confusing, but here we go. Turn two switches on, leave them on for a while, then switch one off. Enter the room with the lights, there will be one light on, so that is obviously the switch you left on. Feel the other two light bulbs, and the one that feels slightly warmer than the other is operated by the switch you turned on and off.] Wow, I rule. That is, if I'm right. A mountain goat attempts to scale a cliff sixty feet high. Every minute, the goat bounds upward three feet but slips back two. How long does it take for the goat to reach the top? [A similar one was done before. Every minute it goes up one foot in total, so at 57 minutes, it will be three feet from the top. If it takes it one minute to climb three feet, I guess the answer is 58.] |
