Okay, first, the song itself.

I've spent the last few days listening to it, trying to come up with some kind of decently worded response to how I feel about it. At first, like the majority of other people here, I was a bit put off by the sound itself, but it still gave me chills. Yet again, I am reminded of why I fell in love with Evanescence in the first place. They merge different genres seamlessly, and it comes out beautifully.

I love her vocals - so strong, so resonant. The double layers don't bother me a bit. I thought it added some lovely texture. And I just love the 'stfu' vibe of the song. It makes me giggle.

Now, the video.

I liked most of it. But, dude, WTF. HARAJUKU GIRLS?! FLYING HARAJUKU GIRLS? No. nonononononono. I laugh everytime I see it. It amuses me. I thought they were kinda creepy dancing down the stairs with her, but the flying part was kinda lame.

One thing that I thought would happen that didn't that I was kinda disappointed about was Wolfie. Okay, pretty, but...I thought he'd have more a role, I guess. He's only there for a little while. And I thought maybe...maybe he'd turn into a wolf or something. Lame, I know, but that's what I figured, anyway. 'Cause he was looking rather preternatural in the screencaps.

This is the artist in me, but I'm loving the use of color. The contrasts. I'm also a really big fan of Amy's makeup in this one, not sure why.

I'm sure I'm WAAAAAAAY behind, but is everybody aware that on the 7th, around the 12 or 1 o' clock on MTV2 there will be "Evanescence: Making the Video"? I was just setting TRL to my tivo (I don't ever watch that show) and noticed that right underneath it. I'm STOKED! The video is the sexiest thing I've ever seen. It's sooooo beautifully done, and I can't to see how they did it! Though I understand how people dislike the editing. The story didn't come through NEAR as much as it could have...but it didn't bother me because Amy's face/voice mesmorized me as usual!

P.S. I'm surprised I'm the only one who seems to like the dancing girls. I thought they were epic...and they were kind of protecting her and worshiping her in a strange way. I LOVED them.

OMG....I watched the video for CMWYS this morning...cocked off my a$$ when 'Lexiapple texted my cell phone saying it was available...we watched it together...........total fangasm..... Wolfie was amazing in this video, and I hope to see him again, but the main thing was seeing amy do something different....I was surprised with seeing her levitate, and the food flying off the table, but after I saw it once or twice, I got used to it...Can't wait for "The Open Door"

I don't really like anything about it. Sorry. The guitar riff after the opening is pretty cool, but the rest just isn't the kind of thing I like. Where are the strings, the organ, the choir? I don't even like Amy's voice very much in it. She didn't sing lyrically, prettily, although I suppose it's not the kind of song you'd sing that way anyway. I have to give it to them for trying something new, and I can see why lots of people WOULD like this, and I can totally see this being number one, it's just... I was expecting something different. Please no one attack me for this, just because I don't like it it doesnt mean it's not a good song. It just isn't my cup of tea. (Give me choirs, strings, organs, epic lyrics!)

I kinda like the video. It's not an everybody's fool, but it's different. The dancers are a bit too my chemical romance and I can just see mcr fans saying "omfg jamie lee stole their idea" or something lame like that. Amy looked beautiful, as did the wolf guy (heh heh.) It'd have been cool if they'd have just forgotten the dancers, and she'd have flown around in a more peter pan way than a levitating kind of way. Flying must be cool because superman does it. Hey Amy if you're reading this... seriously consider a superhero themed video next time. wicked cool. *cough*

It's nice to know Amy can and will fight for what she wants. That is really good to know.

I'm still waiting for longer clip of lacrymosa, that is SRSLY the song I cannot wait to her.

Actually in the time I've taken typing this out... it's grown on me a fair bit. It's probably never going to be my favourite ev song, but I kinda like it, for the way it's different.

Anyway, i also wanted to say that i just thought it was cool thinking about how some bands produce songs that advocate drug use and being high and whatnot and comparing it to Evanescence's CMWYS

Something about Amy's appearence in the video has been bugging the hell out of me and I've finally figured out what it is.

She looks like Shiva from Final Fantasy X. Naturally minus the blue. And the wacky hairstyle. And she's not quite so scantily clad.
