mknell will become famous soon enough
Trust me I have listened to it quite a few times & nope its not up to scratch, i'm hoping the rest of the album don't dissapont like this. To me this song comes a bit underdone like there is something missing, its good amy can be more free to do what she wants without being shot down, but don't mean it will be liked.
I don't think its going into darker heavier music, i'd love if that happened actually. Guess gotta wait & see. Hmmmm maybe i need some drugs to enjoy this song, any1 got any acid lol

anyway, i think it might be a little disappointing to some listeners because Evanescence has begun to move into a heavier, darker genre of music. they have really taken a step away from what they were before. they were commercial and not really placable, gret, but not defined. Now we can really tell what type of band they are. they are darker, spiritual, emotional, in my opinio, hypnotic, but best of all, and again my opinion, more gothic. They make something beautiful from pain, which is really what goth is, not a fashion statement. I like this new darker Evanescence, but i think the more "lighter?" fans are going to have a harder time staying with them. they were used to a very light Evanescence, but now they are a dark, mysterious Evanescence. Amy was not lying when she said it would be different. They are just more ranged and experienced. They are expressive of mor emotions and are truly unique now.
When Ben left, Amy siad she was releived because now her ideas wouldn't be shot down because they weren't commercial. And the more i think about it, on Fallen, Amy's songs were always darker and more epic. They aspired to a less general audience. Ben wanted to sell cds, and Amy wanted to write music. I mean, after ben left, he went and worked for singers like Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson. As soon as i heard their new stuff, i imediately thought of Evanescence. Ben brought a very cliche kind of angst to the lyrics and music, but Amy really strikes the emotion on key. I think that might be what people aren't liking about this.

I agree somewhat, i liked the song and i've listened to it SO much already but imo it was very basic lyrically and musically... definatley not the dark heavy sound i was longing for! however Amy has said each song of the album is different to each other so i'll wait and see.........I'll still buy it and love it though!

Edit: this is the most commercial song i think they've done!

Have to say I think that aswel! Not in a bad way at all though.
I just saw the little trailer of the CMWYS video, and that actually has sparked me more into the song than I already was. I think that video could be the best one Evanescence have done to date, it just seems to fit so well with the song, and I have to admit I had my doubts!
Right on Evanescence thats all I can say.

Okay, Sorry I just have to say something lol. Fair enough people may not like this song because the lyrics are blunt or plain or whatever. But the thing is, like sooo many people have said, this song is about 1 thing and why not put it across plain and simple? It's a great song and its sounds great too.
I think people are expecting a lot more deep and dark lyrics or something like previous songs. For example, I think people want this song to be like "you ripped my sould out of my body coz your not lying here with me" or whatever. That's just my opinion.. Then again, you may just not like the song lol

On another note, the video looks awesome, like the actual clip there lol. I already commented on the photos

To me i'm speaking more musically not liking it, i don't wanna go into the lyrics side of it yet. Coz yah it can have the most meaningful lyrics ever but that won't matter if it sounds bad. Hopefully the album will be allot heavier than this

I'm not sure if I like it or not yet. I certainly don't think it is anything compared to some if not the majority of their other songs.

I'll listen some more...

Don't forget the fact that Amy's different now. So much has gone on in her life since fallen. Amy really sings and creates music from the heart and if that means her music being different, let it be. She doesn't have Ben on that side of her telling her it's not commercial enough anymore. She seems to just be letting go. Looking at it in that perspective is what makes me realise this song does have a strong impact. As for the little promotional video going around, I really like it. If anything, the only bit I'm annoyed about is where they have the dancers like they do in Helena (my chemical romance video) but that's it. Apart from that, I can't wait.
