Yes, she did make that bluntly clear, but that doesn't mean everyone here has to drop to their knees, bow and force themselves to love the song as though it were their firstborn child. And to answer your question, no. There will be times where not EVERYONE is satisfied. Just as you're more than allowed to love it, others are more than allowed to be dissapointed in it, or even hate the song. (Though I haven't seen anyone who hates it yet...)

Did anyone else find irony in this song? The way she sings the phrases reminds me of Shawn. Listen to the song and imagine his voice singing the exact phrases Amy sings. If Shawn helped her learn some new styles of singing it shows in this song.
It took ALOT of adjusting to get used to this song.
It sounds like country blues in a way.

Ahhh, I'm waiting for that one as well. That clip gave me shivers! That's more the type of Ev I'm into as well, that one sounds dark, epic, etc, etc...

It's great either way. It's just different. When you listen to the same stuff for years, expecting and waiting for something new.. that's just not how it's gonna be. I was shocked at first because it almost sounded country, but I've really gotten used to it and it's pretty damn amazing IMHO.

All I was saying was that I saw all this stuff about people don't like this, that or the other about the song, or are disappointed in it and I wonder what do expect? Amy isn't making music to please YOU she's doing it for herself. Just like I saw a post back, somebody's already worried if they should be expecting the song to be crap or not. I'm just voicing an opinion. I never said people aren't allowed to be disappointed so don't rip me apart just becaue I voiced an opinion.

I really just don't like it.

At first I wasn't too sure about the song, but after a few listens I love it now

To musical peoples:
I wonder if we'll hear any songs on the new album in something other than 4/4 time. To the best of my knowledge the only Evanescence song in any other time except 4/4 is Anywhere, which I believe is in 3/4 (or possibly 6/8). It'd be great to hear the song-writing skills of Evanescence in a different time signature than the standard 4/4 time. Maybe even something unusual like 7/4 or 9/4, although not many songs are written like that. Apart from Pink Floyd-Money which is in 7/4.

I agree, it took me aback when I first heard it... the short clips hadn't prepared me for the overall sound, but now I really like this song in it's own right. I don't think it has the potential to be as big a hit as Bring Me To Life, but it does have a broader sounding appeal so I rekon it should do quite well.
Though going with the majority I gotta agree that hearing this has made me even more anxious to hear Lacrymosa, and some of their older style songs.
I think it's great they're experimenting with this album and I'm hoping there are a few more surprises I come to like just like CMWYS.

As I'm sure you realize, most of us are actually members here and have been keeping up with Amy's posts, etc, etc, and we all know how she's been writing, that she's not writing to please anyone, etc, but that doesn't stop everyone from having an opinion - and I think Amy's mature enough to realize that, and even better, I doubt she gives a _____ whether people like it or not. You're voicing an opinion, and so are the rest of us, regardless of who said what about the album, who wrote it, why they wrote it, what we think of it etc.
If you think that's ripping you apart, I'd hate to see how you'd feel if someone really *was* ripping you apart.
