In this day and age, I would think so.

Barbara Streisand may face legal action from a class action suit by some of her fans for fraud. The fans claim that they paid a fortune to see her last show ever and if she performs again then they were "taken" by the hype and marketing.

What do you think of this? I think that it is a long time coming. Performers have a right to change their mind but if they bill this as the "last ever" then fraud charges are in order.

I am also looking forward to see how SouthPark handles this one.

People sue for most anything nowadays and I, for one, find it pretty silly. I can see suing for personal injury and stuff like that, but this? naw...

And, I too, am looking forward to see how South Park handles this one.

I think it depends. In the case of Barbara Streisand, I think not. But something like Creed, where Scott Stapp was so drugged up he was rolling around on stage and couldnt remember the words to his own songs, I think someone has a case there.

It is still a little retarded though.

If a concert is being advertised as the "last show ever", and it turns out not being the last one, then it is false advertisement. Especially when people pay for a ticket, and many of them are buying a ticket because they believe it's the last show.

So I think there is a case for a lawsuit, however silly it may sound.

I'm probably one of the only people here who doesn't think the idea of suing someone for false advertisement is a tad absurd or even silly. Saying this is the very last time this performer will be on stage to that extent and charging fans hundreds of dollars for a farewell show that isn't really the last is stealing and again, false advertisement. It's not like an infomercial that says "Drink this for two and a half days and you will look like Angelina Jolie", it's common sense that tells you it's not true, and there is usually fine print or some type of contract that comes along with it. I sincerely doubt there was any fine print in regards to this show. [Unless maybe it was the very last show this week/month/year.]
She/whomever is in charged lied, they should pay the price.

Maybe she just changed her mind? So if I have a store and decide to shut it down and have a going out of business sale, and then later change my mind and reopen the store, I could be sued.

Shouldn't they be charging the advertiser with fraud not Barbara Streisand herself? Wasn't her fault they advertsied her last show wrong. People will sue agaist anything for the most strangest things nowerdays I think it's pathetic.

I can understand people sueing artists for injury but this is just stupid. It just shows how many stupid cases there are against sueing an artist and trying to get every penny out of them.

Then it would be her fault, but I think you should be able to to be honest, because people are gonna pay rediculous prices to come see you thinking they'll never get the chance again, then discover that you're doing another show again. I would be pretty annoyed..

But, these die hard fans would love the fact that their last tour, was not actually their last... and would go see them again and again.

I suppose there would only be the people that actually went to see the "last" performance bothered, 'cause everyone else would be happy yes. It just depends how many and what they're like..
