Carpet.

Tile is all cold and stuff, I've never liked it. It seems rich people love the stuff for some odd reason, that and wood. THE COLDER YOUR HOUSE IS DOESNT MAKE YOU ANY FANCIER

Carpet in the living room, but make sure it's short not that 70's shag shit

Tile in the dining room

Easy cleanup in the dining room where it's needed but still somewhere comfy to relax in the living room

After all if it's all tile it gets mighty slippery when it gets wet

Just for gawd's sake clean the carpet!
