The sad thing is that despite me having no musical ambitions whatsoever, I'd be very tempted to bid on it if it guaranteed backstage access. I wonder why that clause is there; surely one would think that buying a piece of Evanescence memorabilia like that, and for such a high price, would at least secure a little one-on-one action. I'm kind of scared b/c I don't know how the whole "getting backstage" thing works, and if this isn't enough to do it, then what is? *will never meet Amy before death?*

I don't like that there's a reserve. The minimum bid is essentially futile--I'm sure it's into the thousands in actuality.

P.S. I'd bid on it if it was the guitar up for auction. I didn't realize it was just the "amp" + whatever else until it was clarified in this thread. *no use for amps, w/e else b/c he doesn't know what they are*

Well, there are a LOT of crazy people out there. You really don't know people you chat with online or have dealings with (both here on evboard, and on the internet in general). The ultimate winner could be a kindred soul, or a stalker. Who knows. I can totally understand this clause.

Also, The site says the winner and two friends will still receive admission to the show. At $35-40 a ticket, plus tax... that is a VERY generous offer in and of itself. If I got the amp, I'd be thrilled just to go see them.

If you don't know, perhaps look up the manufacturer of the equipment. They'll have a description of what it does. Or ask your friends that play guitar. They'll know.
