David Cook and American Idol - EvBoard

So, I know there are some A.I. fans here, whether you want to admit it or not lol. I have watched Idol since Season 2. There have been a few seasons that I've not given a shit what happens or who wins but then there are times like now that I do care. David Cook is our hometown boy. I grew up in Blue Springs....that is where he is from also. It's surreal having someone almost famous from my little hometown. Tonight, they'll be showing footage of his homecoming. So if you want to catch a glimpse of where I'm at just watch tonight

So, everyone do me a favor....if he makes it through the votes tonight (which I'm almost positive he will) please vote for him next week on Tuesday. Even if its just one vote

That being said...who here is an idol fan and/or David Cook fan?

So its the two davids battling it out....Cook better win, he is so much better than Archie. Little David needs to grow up alot (no offense to him)...he's just not ready for all of this. He needs time to be a kid still, if he wins he can kiss whats left of his childhood goodbye. Good to see atleast one other Cook fan here

i have absolutely no idea who this person is. I have a 6 year old so any tv watching at my house tends to be cartoon network or nickelodeon.

I actually just finished watching the show, and he is such a cutie!
He has a wonderful voice, and I really thing he should make it.

I couldn't watch the very end, because Noah was crying.....so
someone will have to post what happened.
He sure has so many fans now, I saw that much, I think he will get
a record deal no matter what!!

Major w00t for having two--count 'em, TWO--American Idol champions from Oklahoma! And David Cook is from Tulsa! (Okay, he didn't grow up in Tulsa, but he's lived and worked here for years, so it counts.) \m/ I am so proud right now, even though I hate Carrie Underwood and didn't watch this season of American Idol at all, so I've heard nothing from David Cook. (Did that make any sense at all? LOL)

Oklahomans = teh secks.

I'm really glad David C won, I loved his voice(and himself...*DROOLEGDE*) I didnt like David A... he didnt have agood enough genre range and his voice and style were too winpy for my tastes... So, YAY for David C!!!!

I don't watch AI but heard that David Cook sang one of my favorite songs in the finale "The World I Know" by Collective Soul, and I caught his performance on youtube. He totally NAILED that song, and the only thing I regret is that he only got to sing a short version of it. I think that was David Cook's final performance in the competition, and it was a surprise because most contestants who make it that far apparently repeat songs they've performed on the show earlier (what's up with that??), and judge Simon Cowell criticized Cook for not following that pattern (though he praised Cook's performance of this "beautiful song"), only to apologize to Cook on the next show, right before it was announced that Cook had won --- by 12 million votes.

I think that song and the way Cook sang it were instrumental in Cook's big win.

My favorte versons of the song by Collective Soul are actually Live performances, i.e. on 2 of their DVD's: the self titled one filmed in Morocco in 2000, right before original lead guitarist Ross Childress (who co-wrote the song) left the band, and then on the more recent DVD (2006) called Home with an orchestra. My very favorite performance was when lead singer/songwriter Ed Roland and Ross Childress' replacement, Joel Kosche, played the song with just the one voice and 2 ringingly beautiful acoustic guitars in 2006 on Howard Stern's Sirius Satellite Radio show.

Anyway I'm very glad that David Cook won and sang that song, and am also very happy for Collective Soul and Ross Childress, who are probably enjoying some nice CD and track-downloading sales right about now.

I am definitely going to be buying his album, when its evenually
released!!
