Enough!

I'm no mod and I don't pretend to be, but ever since Amy posted in this forum, there has been an influx of new problems and issues that have been thoroughly discussed already. We are all aware that your issues are important and being heard is one of most helpful things to anyone who has a problem, but please, do the moderators and the eyes of the members a favor and post in the respective thread. This is why this forum exists. So it doesn't turn into a sloppy whine-fest that repeats itself over and over. You won't be ignored because you didn't post a thread. I posted 'Coping with death' a month ago and it really only got popular until recently. No one wants this to end up as a whine and cheese forum because we want to help, but that isn't possible if we have to personalize it every single time, which is hard when many of the new threads are unknown members. Please, tell us what's wrong. Just do it in the right places.

I am a mod, though there are times when I pretend not to be, but that's neither here nor there.

I too have noticed a marked decline in the quality of posts in this forum in recent days. So much so that even before Scott made his eloquent plea for sanity (above) I began "cleaning house" in here this morning. I'll continue to "clean house" until I'm satisfied.

I'll be applying the Advice Forum Rules and moving things around accordingly.

Remember Rule #1:
This is EvBoard, Not a Mental Ward.

If you get a handle on that, everything else basically falls into place.

People, PLEASE listen to what they are saying. Two of the rules around here are continuously being broken, specifically the rules about not posting about suicidal/self-harming behavior and about not posting threads that don't lend themselves to advice or posts that do not give advice. I will delete anything I find that breaks these rules, no matter who it pisses off, and even if it has already been approved by someone else. I am sick of reading these posts and I'm scared this will turn into Whine and Cheese Pt. II. Have a good day!

I <3 you guys. So stop.

RECAP:
1. No posts about being suicidal, cutting yourself, etc.
2. No threads that do not solicit advice and lend themselves to advice.
3. No posts that do not give advice. "Oh, I'm so sorry" and "Me too!" do not count as advice.

Read the Advice Forum Rules. Follow them, and all will be well. That is all.

Mary

This is how we're going to work this forum. If you have a sticky situation and want some advice, make as simple a post as possible framing the situation and ask for some advice.

This forum is not a place to offer unsolicited 'advice' or to post . Dancing or otherwise.
