*bashes head against desk* okay, so that may be true, but where's the research to prove that? it might not be!

i thought there was meant to be a week where we'd all post about the proposed locations, i.e. things to do, places to stay, and of course the cost of these.

that way we could see what place has the best things to do, and we'd definately know we'd have chosen the right place.

i have no idea how much it'd cost to stay in barcelona or what people would want to do there, so i'll have to stick to what i know and vote for london. i know there are a lot of good places to go to, and the travel expenses will be cheaper for me. the accommodation really isn't that expensive if we all share a room, which will be fun anyway, playing music and all!

fwiw, i think we could delete this topic and have a new one where we only post about the locations, as i mentioned before. i.e. a place name, whereabouts it is, how much it costs, etc. or accommodation, what it's like, the price, website links, etc.

so we do that before deciding on the place we're going to, meaning we know the place we're going to has better things to do than the other.

then after that, have a poll between the two cities, basically the same as this thread, with a link to the proposals thread telling people to take a look at that first. or we just keep it in the same thread, meaning people will have read through it all hopefully, and if they're that interested they won't need a new topic to know they need to vote again.

that's my opinion, anyway. i'd be interested to hear what others think, although i'd guess those who've voted for barcelona and can't make london won't want anything to change, but personally i might be able to make either so i'd like to be able to make the right decision!

and i thought we were meant to be looking at a date poll before the final location poll anyway? and how long do people want to go for? that's another thing to be taken into consideration, especially financially.

we have plenty of time to plan this, we don't need to rush into deciding anything. nearer the date a few people may not be able to go, which could actually put the losing location in the lead. there's a long way to go yet, lots of things could change with people's situations.

c'mon, let's get this done properly guys! hopefully we can get what's right for most people.

ony ~ surely we'll all avoid the beach whatever country, so we can stay pale! haha. or maybe i personally find that sitting on the beach isn't that fun, getting bored and burnt, heh. but i'm sure some people could do that and others could do something else in the meantime.

can someone post more about the my immortal place? it sounds interesting but that's all i know!

Aha, about the cities guide, it seemed like it was down to these 2 cities only so I didn't start to search for the things (and I didn't have time with the uni inscription and all) but I'll be doing it now anyway and one for London would be cool too, this way we could see what'd be more cheaper and maybe the 'london is expensive' would stop, lol. It can help people to decide.

And I'll post pictures of the MI streets if you want. Without a doubt, the best is the fountain, although it's often very.. dirty.. lol.

he square where the video was shot takes the name of the saint
(Jesuit preacher, Florence 1515 - Rome 1595) because the church which
dominates the area is dedicated to him.

In the middle of the square, where the cemetery of Montjuïc del Bisbe used to be,
there is a fountain which helps to give this square

that's great ony! the only problem is people have already voted in this thread. but yes, even if london is proven to be more expensive, at least people wouldn't need to keep saying it as we'd have it noted down, hehe.

that sounds good too, and thanks eli! i'll look for my abh dvd, i'll watch the vid too. it'd be cool to go there and take photos of us there!! also depends on what else there is to do in both locations though as we can't stay there all day every day... or can we? hehe.

So, I suspect the best thing to do now, is to get those city profiles writen fast, ask phoenix fires to suspend the poll (edit first post with a warning) until those are up (say, 3 days to write the profiles?), then post the link to each profile and ask people to read before deciding.

I'm still undecided, though I'm more inclined to Barcelona Ev-wise, London looks great to visit (haven't been there). I know London can be _really_ expensive because of the accomodation.

It's clearly understandable that people, who live in the UK or near, vote for London and for the same reason another vote for Barcelona, and I highly doubt that it can be changed by any researches. Plus I don't think they're needed to prove that London is expensive.

If this meeting is arranged in the end, I have no doubt that there will be more, so the city that loses this year has all chances to be the next year’s place of meet (or automatically become this place).

I voted for Barcelona! I will be coming from the U.S. and have always wanted to go overseas. I voted barcelona because I think that I Could always go to London but Barcelona that is a totally different thing. Plus the whole MI video deal. And also but definitely not least I gotta go visit the Big Bad Pervy Mod. I miss my new friend Jerry. Remember you gotta show me some good peaches in Barcelona!!!!!!!
