Evanescence-inspired Picture edits

So yeah... I've been editing a couple pictures with Evanescence lyrics as I see fit.

This first one is of Oceans, with a picture of the most naturally fitting scenery: an ocean.

edited with picnik. I change the fonts and shade for every line both so it shows up in the image, as well as to keep it flowing with something new.

This second one has the lyrics from "Sick". Obviously as a sick person or result of someone being sick would be disgusting, I thought a dead flower would work nicely to represent something being "sick".

Just completed this one, of a girl wandering through a bleak forest, with the lyrics to Lost in Paradise (It's my name!

)

My vision for this was to kind of have a beautiful surrounding, a paradise element if yo will, yet at the same time a feeling of being lost. I found the image from this blog and kind of gave it a sepia tone, and softened it, then added the lyrics. I'm very satisfied with the outcome.

My Paper Flowers- I think that one's my favourite so far!
This one is of "The Change". I really like this song but it was hard to choose an image that really fit. I settled on a supernova, a dying star, which kind of goes with the line "Not that I don't see the dying light..."

And one of my favourite songs from the self-titled album, Swimming Home. I considered using a Selkie, since the song reminds me very much of selkies but most of the selk images I found were either poor quality or more nudity than I was comfortable with, so I settled with under the ocean. I thought this image was beautiful and goes pretty well with the lyrics.

Disappear is my favourite song along with Lost in Paradise from the self-titled album. Choosing a fitting image was something I stumbled over for days, trying to find something that "disappears". Then a vapor came to mind, which I found cool as that's what Evanescence means--fading,vanishing, like a vapor.

And behold! Your Star, my favourite Evanescence song of all time!

obviously, a star would be the most fitting element lol. I searched Sirius (the star, not Black :P ) which is the brightest known star in the heavens. I really liked how it was kind of off-centred in this image, which kind of let the lyrics have a flow....

This next one is New Way To Bleed. Not sure why I chose it, but I chose a glass slipper. I suppose it could be taken as an empowerment message from Cinderella's perspective, she feels a slave to dreams...

And this one, is of My Heart Is Broken. I chose the picture of a little child wandering, lost and alone. Amy was inspired to write this song by a program run by a friend that rescued children who had been victimized by sex slavery. The song puts the singer into the perspective of what it would be like to be that little girl, probably taken from her family and abused, the only reason she's fed and kept alive is because she's in the worst kind of slavery. She can't escape, she can't go back, because she fears the one enslaving her will catch her and only hurt her again. She's chained to her fear that she can never find a way to heal her soul. Her heart is broken. She dreams of freedom, deliverance from sorrow's hold over her heart.

This one's Bring Me To Life. The image is just a piano on a beach in the mist and fog, the piano being the symbol of the person singing's hope, them crying out to be saved from the dark, and the fogginess being what keeps them "frozen inside"

And this one, is Imaginary. I think the image and its reason are pretty obvious.

And this, my most recent is End of the Dream. I struggled a long time to find the right image, and to decide what to choose. The song is very beautiful, kind of a whole freedom thing, saying "I can do this on my own. I won't back down, and I don't need to depend on anyone but me." I chose a butterfly in the end, representing a recurring theme of flight and wings.

This first one is My Immortal. It was a hard decision choosing of a background that I felt accurately portrayed the mood of the song, but I saw this one, of someone in the snow alone, wandering like they have painful memories.

And this one is Before the Dawn.

And finally, My Last Breath. I'm not really sure why I felt the city was fitting, I guess because Amy said the song was inspired by the 9/11 attacks....
