the words

remembering all you learned

of who you have become
your worst losses
your greatest gains
have formed the very being
you are today
as you walk forward
and relive your memories
you know now that they're
your greatest treasure
and who you are.

Deep Within Side

The past wasn't all what it should have been
alot of abuse, and disturbing scence.
Remembering the hurt, pain, sorrow, wanting everything to end,
so I wouldn't have to wake wake up, to another tomorrow.
Everything being out of control, seeing everything left unknown.
At times crying myself to sleep, finding things just to hard to beat.
Losing myself to the point of no return, like being surrounded by
flaming fire, just not having anymore desire.
Mind empty, hiding behind it all, bitterness, blinded
not wanting to face all these fears, always crying so many tears.

Only to stand up and fight, having the will, and to know I can
no more hiding behind this mask.
Being able to be someone, I know I can.
Having that smile that hid for so long, reaching out, and being
strong.
Seing such a beautiful life for all it is, never taking anything for granted.
I know now I am safe.....I know my soul can now awake, and show all its
beauty, and all its glow.

I hope this is good enough, and that you all liked it!

"Napping on a spring evening"

We sit together on the porch, as the spring sun chases away the long winter.

I quietly sit and listen to her as she naps,
Her soft, rapid breathing is the very sound of contentment

She is warm and safe, snuggled against me
All is right as she snoozes in her Pooh cap.

It is a warm spring evening,
With a gentle breeze that smells of freshly mowed lawn
The kind that makes you wish you had a hammock.

I sit and think about my life - the ups and downs, the highs and lows.
How easy it would be to dwell in those lows;
To live in the what-ifs of yesterday…

But then I remember those glorious highs
The friends and moments that held me up
And made me whole when wholeness was needed most.

I look down at her; she sleeps the sleep of the innocent.
Sometimes she speaks meaningless syllables
Sometimes she peers up at me with a half-conscious barely open eye
But then she is back in slumber, whispering a contented sigh.

I think about my life again,
Those moments that define a person
The milestones along the path, the happiness and sadness
All of these now wait for her as she begins her path.

For a moment I envy her,
So small, so innocent,
The world is there for her to conquer
Each day a new discovery!

She mutters in her sleep,
Stirs for a moment, and then drifts back to peace.
I wonder if I ever slept so well,
I feel so old.

As we sit together the sun quietly sneaks away,
behind some trees at the end of the street
I sit and think about the things that were
And the things that are…
…And I smile.

Make Believe Memories

It's cold outside the circle of her arms,
But her resentment burns my insides.

I'm lost in pain;
I'll never be the same.

I'll never sleep in peace without her.

Because,
I'm torn at the seams;
I struggle,
Even in my dreams.

I cannot eat...
I’m so weak...

I cannot keep my feet.

I’m unable to move forward,
Yet, unable to retreat.

Was all our talk,
Of love and dreams,
Merely make believe?

Were all the things we shared,
Merely, make believe memories?

I'm scared.

I'm scared that I will never see her face again.
I'm scared I'll never kiss her lips, or hold her hand.
I'm scared that this is it, and that this really is the end.

I'm scared she never loved me as I am.

So scared.

I'm scared she may have loved me all along.
I'm scared that everything was right,
Except, that I was wrong.

So I can't sleep...
And I can't eat...

And with every passing day,
I am closer defeat.

So scared.

Because if all our talk,
Of love and dreams,
Were merely wistful make believe.

Then all the things we shared,
Were merely, make believe memories.

however here goes.

Today she died
She lost the fight
Instead of a battle
A hard fought fight
She faded away
Lost in the twilight
........missing
It was her choice
She could not watch
The world around
Move on without her,
Her everfading aura
Waning until lost
.......a lamb
A sacrifice of her soul
Of her self
She had no reason more left
To keep this existence
Wondering
Always wanting for the end
Just never wished for something so bitter
........Bittersweet
Her sacrifice became my own
I was left behind to gather
The fallen pieces
A put together
A complete picture
.......whole
Her sacrifice released
Myself, My soul
I open my eyes at the
End of twilight
To find myself a freer soul

I lost my past
I let it go

yeah i've come to realize that i picked a good yet hard topic so heres my attempt

We give ourselves up
to a careless world
we strive to be our best
at everything we try
yet in the end what do we get?
nothing but loss.
you give yourself up
just to lose it all
so why sacrifice yourself?
to the unforgiving world
is it how you are raised?
are you taught to do it?
giving everything up
for some big dream
and in the end
what do you have to show?
that you missed the stars
that the dream is lost?
