I love both Anne Rice and V.C. Andrews. I've loved them since I can remember. I love My Sweet Audrina. I didn't use to... I used to have to just stop reading it and put it away... but it's now my favorite of her books. And the Dollangager series. I didn't like the movie based on Flowers In The Attic. It was too disappointing.

My favorite author is William Gibson. (see sig)
I've posted about him a bunch of times here before. Lemme recap ... He invented the word "Cyberspace", and forsaw the internet. He's considered a forefather of much of what is common in Scifi today (The Matrix, etc.) I collect hardback copies of his books, some in 1st editions. I got to meet him at a signing about 2 years ago, and he signed my copies of "Pattern Recognition" and "Burning Chrome" (which is very rare in hardback). Oh yeah ... I'm a big scifi geek.

I like John Francome his books always end with a twist and all his characters link in a way. It is quiet unique how he does it.

Sounds interesting, i have to have alook. I love books that wont let you put them down. Its like that with J.K Rowling's books, but the only problem i get is getting into the book takes me ages to get into the book and when i dont i usually end up not finishing it or forgetting about it. A problem i have... grr |

I like Tamora Pierce (Anyone read her new books about Alianne?? They're awesome... nearly halfway done with the 2nd one... don't spoil it please), Philip Pullman, Lynne Ewing (Daughters of the Moon series) as well as a bunch of other fantasy books I can't think of right now. Oh yeah, and JK Rowling. How could I forget her??? And J.R.R. Tolkien, too, even tho I've only seen the movies. Don't have time to read the books right now even though everyone says I should. I also like other authors too, of other random books that aren't fantasy. I'm always into trying new books at people's recommendations. One that sticks out in my mind is Gone With the Wind, which is TOTALLY different from the movie. Can't think of the author's name right now, but that book was cool. So was a lot of other American Literature. As well as the author S.E. Hinton (The Outsiders) and Lois Lowry (The Giver). |

My Favourite author is Terry Pratchett. His books are comical and merge a lord of the rings fantasy world with modern day ideas in a medieval era. Like a vampire camera man who uses flash photography which is lethal to him as it turns him into a pile of ash. To bring him back to life the vampire caries a little bottle of blood around his neck which he has to rely on bystanders to pour on him!
When people die, or get seriously injured, you can tell the persons injuries were fatal if the speach of another character is capitalised. This character is death and it's always funny when death appears in the book, because you're never sure if someone is dead and when something like, "OH DEAR, THAT WAS A BIT OF A NASTY FALL" suddenly appears THEN you know . Pratchett does it more subtle than that though!Does anyone else here read Terry Pratchett? |
