I always thought the ending theme to the original Resident Evil was awesome... it always made me feel so relieved to have finished the game, yet sad at the same time.
This is why I love music. -Mike

This thread Rocks! I like a bunch of video game music.
-Chrono Trigger and Cross have amazing soundtracks. I especially love 'Scars of Time' and 'People Imprisoned by Destiny' (Dario and Miguel battle theme) -Final Fantasy VI - Basically anything from this game. I love Terra's theme. -FF7 - Aeris' Theme, One-Winged Angel, Main theme, Staff Roll, JENOVA Absolute -FF8 - Eyes On Me, Maybe I'm a Lion, Premonition, Liberi Fatali, Slide Show part 1 and 2 (cracks me up every time I hear it), Mods de Chocobo, Ride On, The Ending Theme (all 14 minutes of it) -FFX - Suteki Da Ne, Otherworld, People of the North Pole, Someday the Dream Will End, Decisive Battle -The MGS2 Main theme and The Best is Yet to Come -Xenogears - I adore this soundtrack almost as much as the game itself. Small Two of Pieces is such a beautiful song it brought me to tears the first time I heard it. -Xenosaga - Yasunori Mitsuda is an Orchestral GOD! DDR - Too much good music. Butterfly, Kakumei, Healing Vision, Silent Hill, I Feel, The Shining Polaris, Senorita, In the Navy, Boom Boom Dollar, Ghosts, So Deep, Look To the Sky, Twilight Zone, Drop Out, Candy I think I'll go listen to Small Two of Pieces now. |

Just about the entirety of FFX has great music that's really nice to listen to.
And that beginning song to Kingdom Hearts... i dont know what, but sommat about it makes me love the song... it. just. rules. also, the MMORPG EverQuest has some relaly good music to listen to... and best part about it is that you dont have to be in the particular area of the game to listen to it, just open up the game's directory and listen whenever you want, hehe

Anyway...I have an extensive collection of video game music, and I just skimmed through it and chose the ones that I think (for now, at least) are my very favorites. Metal Gear Solid (Enclosure) Metal Gear Solid 2 (Overture) Alundra (Requiem) (Reflecting) Chrono Cross (Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World) (Leaving the Body) (Life - Faraway Promise) (Chrono Cross Opening) (Reminisence) (Star-Stealing Girl) Chrono Trigger (To Far Away Times) Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (Dracula's Castle) Castlevania Dracula X - (Credits) (Stage 6) Suikoden II (Memory) (Retrospection) Xenogears (Tears of the Stars, Hearts of the People) (Those Who Bear Fangs at God) (Awakening) (Grahf Emperor of Darkness) (Lost...Broken Shards) Wild Arms (Intro) FFX (Challenge) (In Zanarkand) (Path of Repentance) (Someday the Dream Will End) (Song of Prayer - Valefor) Final Fantasy IV (Rydia theme - both Original and Piano) (Prelude - I Will See You Again) Final Fantasy VI (The Phantom Forest - Piano) FFVII (Aeris' theme) (Jenova) (Cry of the Planet) (A Dream Into the Universe) FFVIII (Find Your Way) (Julia's Piano Solo) (A Sacrifice) FFX-2 (Eternity - Memory of Lightwaves) Star Ocean - Second Story (A Quirk of Fate) (Cuddle) (Field of Expertise) (Mission to the Deep Space) (The Venerable Forest) (Theme of Rena) Gundam Wing (Opening) (Vs.) (Mercurius-Vayeate) Megaman X (Plot dialogue with Zero) There are tons more, but I'm tired and groggy-sleepy-cranky feeling.

hmmm....
I have to say, Castlevanias music, especially the Symphony of the Night game, really rocked. And some racing games have cool guitar music. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the FFVII music. That game was so perfect on so many levels.Aeris' music especially. I cried when she died. She was my girl. I used her more than anyne else, except Cloud. That and she was the only one with her ultiamte limit break. I loved her. And she died. You know, I think a piece of me died when that happened too. *cries* |

She was definitely my favorite character. I love the cover of the game, how she seems to be watching over them from the ground while they are in the airship (though she had died before they had ever gotten around to using the airship). And then they made it even more sad by the music they played.

OH, and I also though that the music to Cid was pretty awesome. It was totally heroic. And being able to play Tifa's piano was cool. I'm having a fun time trying to remember all the characters actual names, because I renamed them all, and it's just weird. Aeris I never forgot, and Cloud, and Tifa. but the rest... ![]() EDIT: and the Resident Evil music. It was so haunting and scary, but beautiful too. My favorite part was when you have to play 'moonlight sonata' to unlock the door. that was fantastic. ![]() |
