I agree. The music for Myst 3 was stunning. I was actually going to mention that one, but it slipped my mind =]

Wow, cool idea for a thread. Normally, I'd be spilling out with favorites, but I can't think straight right now :-/. Maybe because it's 1:30 am? Anyway, Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the u.s.) had some very memorable and well-composed tunes; especially impressive considering that it was programmed for a 16-bit system in midi format. The theme from Morrowind was pretty good. On Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jeremy Soule did an excellent job of composing all-original music that captured the soul (no pun intended) of the original Star Wars score. Ack!! My mind is blank... I apolgize.

FadingDarkness will become famous soon enough
Off the top of my head, my video game experience has been thus far in three major sections -

Sega Mega Drive (Genesis)

Microsoft Xbox

My faves on Sega were the Sonic The Hedgehog series. I'm a total mark for Sonic. Sonic 2 is one of the best games of all time. Also had a great soundtrack through the games, not forever repetitive and boring like most games. First Jurassic Park game brings back fond memories.

My faves on Xbox would be Halo, for starters. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer series of games' music have been right up there too so far.

However I don't get much time to play games and don't have much money to spend on em either

Talking Fifa 2002 -

I though Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" went quite well with the vidoe game because it got you going and pumped and it certainly gave me motivation but i'd prefer dance music on vidoe games because it' fast and energetic!

The Primal soundtrack was great, with 16Volt.
What I loved about it was that in the intro, there was a band playing at a club, and they had made it that the band was playing a 16Volt song.
