I would hardly call two women rolling together having "sex" but...

Anyway, honnestly, i am not pinned in a conservatory view, and i myself admit i am too young to have a final final final take on it, and the world is in constant change and many things thought wrong may soon be proven otherwise.

but i do think it shows you are a bit spoiled and indulgent

yes...becuse your society gives you such an easy life you get to think fantasy, desire=right

but i said before i am not placing gay women and gay men on the same level, as "discriminative" as this sounds...gay women are not icky, just different..so really, i am NOT AGAINST YOU, NOR REPELLED BY YOU, in fact quite curious about you...so no need to be defensive

How can I not be defensive? You are debasing a major part of me. There is no difference between lesbians and gay men. None at all. Are you basing this on the supposed "hotness" of two girls together?
What the hell kind of society do you live in where people can't express who they really are??
I didn't choose to be gay, just like you didn't choose to be straight. My attraction to women is not a choice, or a "desire" - it's a part of who I am.
What if I said to you that you were a freak and unnatural, and you only feel attracted to the opposite sex because of where you live, because you are selfish and indulgent, and that your desires are only passing whims?? You'd be pretty damn pissed off, and tell me that how you feel is natural. O won't stand for double standards. I cannot believe that such ignorance still exists. I'm logging off now, I can't bear to see such intolerance. Its pathetic. Gay people are not going to murder you in your sleep or turn you gay. Let us be, and let us live happy full lives like the human beings we are, with the same rights as everyone else.

Wow. I am almost shocked at the level of ignorance here.

Forgive me if I don't accept "a genetics professor said so," or "I think gay men are icky," as particularly well-constructed arguments.

Gay women not so....but now you are just going to call me sexist
Because that IS sexist.

Still, i say that loving someone doesn't have to go down to sex.
Again, how does this affect YOU in ANY way? Why is it such a problem for you whether or not two people of the same gender have sex? Because you think it's "icky"? Seriously?? Are we back in second grade?

Wow. I didn't realize how spoiled and indulgent it was to love another human being.

*feels disgusted*

Fine with me.

And I NEVER suggested i'd go after gay people and take them down. See the full half of the bottle please.

It doesn't affect me, so go be happy. The ONLY reason i speak is cause i care, but seems like the ones that care get stoned first. Calm down.

What, what, WHAT!?

Please tell me you're joking. Seriously, this is one of the stupidest, offensive, most ignorant arguments I have ever read. Have YOU ever been gay? No. Have YOU ever had to deal with coming out to your family, friends, etc? No.

Don't act all high and mighty because you live in a town where gay people don't exist. Two of my closest friends are gay, and they are the most wonderful people in the world. Because you only are ACQUAINATED with one gay person, that does not give you the right to put down gay people as a whole. You're the spoiled and bratty one if you can sit here and whine about somebody's lifestyle without knowing anything.

I really think you should stop posting; I'm pretty sure you've dug yourself in a very, very, deep hole.

And if this wasnt a public forum, you would definitely not see the politeness from me. I have a few choice words for you, but as a Mod is posting here as well, I'm keeping them to myself.

And by the way, what college do YOU go to that tells you that being gay is abnormal? I'm a psychology major at a very big university, and never once have I heard someone say that. Is it in a po dunk town where the entire population goes to church every day? Because I bet it would be.

*enters thread* I saw this thread yesterday and wanted to put my own two cents in, but had second thoughts about it since everyone was already doing such a great job of defending the point of view that I also have, and in a much better manner that I could possibly do it.

Coincidentally though, in my Human Rights class today, we discussed this very issue. And I have to say that I was in complete shock to see that I was pretty much the only one actually supporting gay rights regarding marriage and adoption. Everyone tried being all high and mighty about how they thought that discrimination based on someone's orientation is terribly wrong and that they would be accepting of someone with a different sexuality, yet they proceeded to claim that giving such rights to gay people would be something atrocious that should never be considered.

At that point, I finished explaining my opinion on that matter, then decided to back off. Because, IMO, the only thing worse than debating with closed-minded people is trying to debate with hypocrites. :/

So true!

I think some people have pretty much expressed my opinion on this matter already, so I'll just say that I support both gay marriage and adoption.

Also, I do think that maybe it's a cultural matter that some people find this "right" and some people find it "wrong". Depending on the society in which people live in they judge and condemn these things but it is up to every individual to break free from the stereotypes that society teaches us and see beyond. As some people have stated before, homosexuality has been around for many, many centuries but religion has managed to make people think it's a bad thing. Why should I trust a source that slayed thousands of people for not believing in their God? So, killing is justified but being homosexual is not? Is it such a threat?

Hey I'm not here to really argue or give my opinion. I just want your opinions on this matter.

I think I'm gay and I haven't told anyone about it because I'm just not ready to face the life after that. Im only 17 and i think its still too early for me to come out so ssshhh...

Anyway, my point is I'm a catholic for years and now I think i'm gay. I still go to church everyweek (well, almost ) and I still pray. I've only recently come to question myself and my religion. It almost felt weird praying in the church knowing that I might be gay. But i tried convincing myself that God still loves me and will not necessarily abandon me because I'm gay and it is He who took me into this religion. So my question is does the religion abandons me or should i abandon the religion?

I know Catholic does not accept homosexuality (I'm such a sinner) but that's my religion! What am i suppose to do? I cant simply convert. Im in a really confused state right now and completely living in the darkness. I think its a lot more harder being gay in an Asian country.

I desperately need help, professional help maybe with my sexuality. I dont know who to turn to because i have spoken to no one about it. I dont dare to. Im too coward. Am i posting in the wrong thread because it says "Gay rights" and not "Whine all you want"??
